Our programmes

Love. Learn. Work. In practice.

We keep children in school and fed, equip women and youth with skills and capital, and help communities reach clean water and healthier habits.

How we work

Four principles behind every programme

Our work is shaped with the people it serves, and built so that it can outlast our own involvement.

Community-owned

Participatory, community-based approaches mean the people we serve help shape each programme and own the results.

Joined-up

Blended programming meets humanitarian and development needs together, so a child's school, meals and health are planned as one.

Built to last

We aim for sustainable local ownership and the support of government, so programmes can continue without us.

Open and accountable

Sound financial systems, transparency and accountability let every sponsor and partner see how support is used.

Three hubs

Three hubs, one family of work

Each hub gathers related programmes. Choose one to see the activities, the objectives and how you can help.

Sponsored pupils in uniform share a hot lunch together at a school table

Education and nutrition

Scholarships for vulnerable children, with uniforms and scholastic materials. Breakfast, lunch and supper, plus beds and bedding.

Women tend a vegetable garden together, learning farming skills in warm evening light

Economic empowerment

Vocational and farming skills, leadership training, and startup capital for women where possible, so families can earn and feed themselves.

Children collect clean water from a village tap beside newly planted tree seedlings

Health and wellbeing

Clean water, sanitation and hygiene, sanitary pads and reproductive-health awareness, and tree planting for healthier homes.

The six pillars

What each pillar does on the ground

Open a pillar to see the activities behind it and the hub where the detail lives.

Education sponsorship

We sponsor scholarships for vulnerable children and provide uniforms and scholastic materials so they can stay in class. We work to keep girls in school and to raise awareness of child protection. Find the detail under Education and nutrition.

Health and nutrition

We promote good nutrition in schools and communities. Sponsored children receive breakfast, lunch and supper, so hunger does not decide how much they can learn. Find the detail under Education and nutrition.

Skills and livelihoods

We provide vocational training for self-reliance and teach agricultural skills so households can grow their own food. Where possible we offer startup capital, and we support savings groups. Find the detail under Economic empowerment.

Women, youth and girl-child empowerment

We offer counselling, inspiration workshops, and leadership and career guidance to women and young people, with dedicated work for girls. Find the detail under Economic empowerment.

Water, sanitation and hygiene

We bring water and sanitation to schools and communities and promote family and personal hygiene. Find the detail under Health and wellbeing.

Environment and community leadership

We plant tree seedlings, teach environmental conservation and train community leaders, with outreach to spread awareness. Find the detail under Health and wellbeing.
